The Bloodbell is no more!

Thank you all SO MUCH for coming! It has been the most fun hosting these, and can only hope that my mom has half as much fun for her birthday party as I do making them!

This year was the first year I have written the story from the ground up, and I appreciate your patience with it as it unfolded.

I have not begun to do much with or to the photos. Catching up a bit.
But here is the shared album that I will be adding everything to. Please add your own pictures/videos from the evening to it!

Thank you all very much, once more! Everyone looked the part, and played it even better!

Love you all,

Update, October 12th

The character sheets have been added, and can be viewed below. All crew will have a captain. This doesn’t mean you are “locked in”, or have any obligations whatsoever. You can do as much or as little as you want as a crew member. But at the end of the night, a Pirate Captain’s crew will be tallied for their score.

Here are your eligible captains:

Jaeko the Fish

Pockets the Fence

Mordecai Danwork

Charlotte Reads

Long Gone

Obsidian

Washed Up Willy

I’d sooner be keelhauled than be puttin’ a meeting together on this cursed island…but the Bloodbell’s been rung, and it’s time we be meeting at Blacktooth Island as we have done before.

Do not forget yer token…

See Jaeko the Fish for any details.

This is the backstory to the event. If you do not listen to it, you will probably be confused about what is happening.

“The Last Words of A.J. Moody”

-The Secret of the Bloodbell-

Saturday, November 10th at 7:00 PM
277 Burson Street
Williston, SC 29853
(If you’d like to pick your name or characteristics, please include them in the comments here. It will be too late to incorporate them after I start writing the story to change it up)

This event will be different from the murder mystery parties we have done in the past, so please read all the provided and future details.

Party goers will be either Captains or Crew, and that must be decided here. Once I begin writing the story for the Captains, I cannot change it later if you change your mind, so if you wish to be a Captain, be absolutely prepared to come and fill your role. Read below for a description of the two roles.

As a Pirate Captain, you will be directly involved with the story as it unfolds, and your presence is essential. You will be expected to know your backstory (which can be written in part by you if you’d like) and your ambitions. You will have an agenda given to you with tasks you must complete. Some thing you will be able to delegate to your crew, but most will be up to you to perform, such as asking and answering questions. If you would like to be a Pirate Captain, let me know in the comments of this RSVP, and let me know if you would like to add a name, or backstory to your character sheet. I will give you some time to write it if so.

As a crew member, you will still have activities to participate in if you choose, or not. The evening is your own to decide. Crew members can participate as much or as little as they’d like. Each Pirate Captain will be able to send his/her crew on tasks throughout the evening, so if you decide to participate, you will no doubt have plenty to keep you involved, but without a direct impact on the story or progression. Upon completing some of the crew tasks, you or your captain may be rewarded with things such as treasure, clues, or even stealing crew members from other Captains!  Please choose either Captain or Crew in the comments on this RSVP which role you would like to play.

After RSVPing, please Click Here to join the Facebook chat. This is important, as vital information for the party will be sent there.

Below are some key points to read up on:

Tokens

Please be sure to bring your token with you, whether you are a Captain or Crew. An example of a token is, an old coin. A brooch, a jewel, jewelry, etc. (You can keep it after the night is over)

Dress Code:

Dressing the part is essential to maintaining the immersive atmosphere. This does not mean you need theater grade garb however. No one needs to break the bank on their outfit.

Limited OOC: (Out Of Character)

Also not a huge deal as long as you remember the atmosphere. Here’s an example. You can use pop-culture references, but should not discuss pop-culture. Remember, immersion is the key!

Punctuality:

Please arrive between 7:00-7:30   Any earlier and it would hinder the preparations, and any later and the timing of events may be jeopardized.

Photography

Photography is greatly encouraged. More often than not, these events end with far too few pictures or videos to look back on. This is due to the progression of the stories, the agendas of the characters etc. So bring your cameras and take all the photos you’d like, but please share with us as well! Dropping them in the group chat is the best way to share with all the participants.

Awards

As always, there will be rewards for winning. Here are the categories:

  • More than Meets the Eyepatch (Best Dressed)
  • Arrrthentic! (Best In-Character Role Playing)
  • Nice Booty! (Finding the most doubloons)
  • Amass Me Swabs! (Acquiring the most crew members)

Looking forward to seeing you there!
